Everton are planning for life in their new Bramley-Moore Dock stadium ahead of their move from Goodison Park this summer.

The Friedkin Group, Everton's owners, want to take a US-style approach towards matchdays at the club's new stadium as they aim to boost their revenue.

Everton’s new stadium is widely reported to have cost Everton around £750million and will be the seventh-largest club ground in England.

The club claimed in an update last week (6 March) that the move will generate an additional £1.3billion of value for the local economy.

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – has insisted that estimate is “conservative”.

Everton’s true economic value could reach £2billion, says Wyness

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider's Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted the true number is likely to be closer to £2billion.

Everton‘s new home is set to host games at Euro 2028 and will also host rugby and concerts.

RankingStadiumCapacity
1Old Trafford (Man United)74,197
2Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (Tottenham)62,850
3London Stadium (West Ham)62,500
4Anfield (Liverpool)61,276
5Emirates Stadium (Arsenal)60,704
6Etihad Stadium (Man City)52,900
7Everton Stadium – when open (Everton)52,888
Everton will have the seventh-largest club ground in England when their new stadium opens.

Wyness told Football Insider's Inside Track podcast: "There'll have been studies done, but to me – that sounds like a conservative number.

"It depends what factors you take into account but the stadium itself is only a 15-minute walk from the city centre.

"When you look at the economic activity with hotels, bars, restaurant and economic development with property and real estate – the whole area will be regenerated.

"As well as the football, there will be concerts and other events.

"I think that £1.3billion number is conservative, I see it closer to £2billion. I've seen that Man United claim there will be a £8billion impact.

"It's about right for Everton to come in around the £2billion mark. It will have a great impact on the city of Liverpool."

Everton face ‘very difficult’ battle to sign Richarlison

Football Insider revealed on Thursday (13 March) that Everton will find it "very difficult" to secure a reunion with Richarlison this summer.

Spurs will be keen to recoup as much of the £50million-plus fee they paid to land the striker in 2022.

The Brazil international has attracted interest from Saudi Pro League clubs recently and told friends he wanted to quit Spurs in the January transfer window.
