Man City midfielder Kevin de Bruyne took to social media after his side’s resounding 6-0 victory over Ipswich Town in the Premier League.

The Cityzens saw a brace from Phil Foden, as well as goals from Mateo Kovacic, Jeremy Doku, James McAtee, and Erling Haaland, all contributing to the dominant scoreline.

De Bruyne looked back to his best, providing two assists to help Pep Guardiola’s side climb the table.

He posted on Instagram after the victory and his stellar performance, simply saying, "Great Sunday!" His post was liked by teammate Jack Grealish, who came on in the 63rd minute.

Man City need Kevin de Bruyne firing if they're to salvage the season

It's been a challenging season for De Bruyne as injuries continue to disrupt his campaign. Every time he seems to regain form, his momentum is abruptly halted.

The Belgian has scored two goals and provided six assists in 20 appearances, a respectable return considering he has only started 11 league games.

Currently, his contract at the Etihad Stadium is set to expire at the end of the season, leaving him free to sign a pre-contract agreement with another club as early as this month.

Consequently, Football Insider revealed that the club are prepared to let him leave, with interest from abroad growing.

Football Insider Verdict

Despite a difficult season at City, it's clear that the Belgium international still has much to offer. Fans have made their feelings known — when their legend is playing at his best, they want him to stay at the club.

While he may no longer be able to play a full 90 minutes due to fitness and age, if he can continue to provide impactful performances — like his recent two assists in 63 minutes of play — there should always be a place for him in the team.

In other news, Man City are set to make a move for this position after agreeing on two other deals.
