Kieran Tierney to Celtic: O'Rourke shares update today

Celtic face two major stumbling blocks in their pursuit of left-back Kieran Tierney, sources have told Football Insider.
Football Insider revealed on Monday (23 December) that Arsenal defender Tierney would be interested in a return to his boyhood club.
The Gunners have decided that they will not activate the one-year extension clause in the 27-year-old's contract, which is currently set to end next June.
Tierney, who has a big admirer in Brendan Rodgers, can strike a pre-contract agreement with foreign clubs from 1 January.
However, it is believed clubs in England and abroad are monitoring his situation – preventing Celtic from having a free run at their former left-back.
Meanwhile, finances will also dictate how competitive the Hoops are able to be in the race for his signature.
Celtic move for Tierney could be scuppered by competition and finances
Tierney can hold out for a bumper payday by running down his contract at the Emirates Stadium and forgoing the need for a transfer fee.
A big-money outlay would represent a considerable risk for Celtic due to the Scotland international’s injury history.
Tierney has only recently made his comeback from a hamstring problem sustained at the European Championships with Scotland.
His time at Arsenal and a loan spell with Real Sociedad have been littered with injuries which have prevented the defender from reaching his full potential.
Tierney made 170 appearances for Celtic before leaving for the Premier League in a reported £25million move in 2019.
