Speculation over Kobbie Mainoo potentially joining Chelsea has increased after Cole Palmer was caught liking reports linking the Man United midfielder to the Blues.
According to the Daily Mail, contract negotiations have hit a stalemate between the club and the defensive midfielder which might open the door for Chelsea to make a bid.
Mainoo is currently under contract at Old Trafford until 2027, but his circumstances have alerted potential suitors across Europe.
Palmer evidently would be open to linking up with his England teammate at Stamford Bridge as he liked a post on Instagram that claimed the Blues are leading the chase for Mainoo.
The two youngsters took the Premier League by storm last season and broke into the Three Lions setup under Gareth Southgate to represent their country at Euro 2024 last summer.
Chelsea could add Kobbie Mainoo to their ranks
The 19-year-old became a key figure in United's team under previous manager Erik ten Hag, and that has continued under Ruben Amorim's tenure.
Mainoo has made 17 appearances for the 20-time champions across all competitions this season, starting the previous six matches for the club.
This season has proven to be a tough one for United though with inconsistencies leading to them sitting 13th in the Premier League table after 20 games.
Amorim has failed to turn the tide since replacing Ten Hag, with the club currently without a win in their previous five matches.
United will be back in action on Sunday (12 January) against Arsenal in the FA Cup third round.
