Man City defender Kyle Walker has taken to social media to send a message to the fans after their comprehensive 4-1 win over West Ham on Saturday (January 4).

The 34-year-old replaced Nathan Ake in the 61st minute as Pep Guardiola’s side went within two points of the Champions League spots.

Savinho thought he opened the scoring with his second goal in as many games, but his shot took a deflection off Vladimir Coufal and it was given as an own goal.

Erling Haaland then got his first in the 42nd minutes before securing a brace in the 55th to make it 3-0 to the home side.

England international Phil Foden got in on the action shortly after to round off the scoring for the current champions, with Niclas Fullkrug’s late goal being nothing more than a consolation for West Ham.

Guardiola’s side are now just one win away from the top four after Chelsea’s late draw with Crystal Palace, their fourth Premier League game without a win.

Walker has struggled so far this season, however, starting 11 of his 18 games across all competitions, providing no goal contributions over his 1159 minutes of action.

Still, Walker took to Instagram to celebrate their much-needed win over Julen Lopetegui’s struggling West Ham side.

City appear to have navigated their way through a remarkably rough patch of form, winning their last two Premier League games having won just one in their previous nine.

Guardiola’s side next face League Two Salford in their first FA Cup game of the season new Saturday (January 11) as they seek to salvage a stuttering season.
