Latte Lath to Leeds: '£18m' deal on the table for Middlesbrough

Leeds United will need to match an £18million offer to sign Emanuel Latte Lath from Middlesbrough in January, sources have told Football Insider.
Speaking on the latest edition ofFootball Insider's Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O'Rourke revealed that there is currently an £18million deal on the table from Atlanta United in the MLS for the 26-year-old.
That is considered to be a "huge" fee and one that would allow Michael Carrick to reinvest into the squad to further enhance his options.
Well-placed sources have told Football Insider that Atlanta United's bid will put Lath out of reach for a lot of other clubs who are interested in his services, and that could potentially include Leeds.
The Yorkshire giants were only able to sign the Ivory Coast international if they sold one of their own players to raise funds.
That was something that Leeds were considering, but they will now need to raise at least £18million to compete with Atlanta United.
Leeds United might have to move on from Latte Lath
Leeds are looking to bolster their squad in the January transfer window to help push them over the line to earn promotion back to the Premier League this season.
However, it is believed that the Whites are probably looking at a top loan signing if they can find one to strengthen their attacking options.
The striker has scored 10 goals and provided two assists in 26 appearances this season for Middlesbrough in the Championship.
