Celtic took a hammering in the Champions League this week, conceding seven goals to Borussia Dortmund and replying just the once.

The result against Celtic is obviously getting a lot of coverage in the German media, with BVB being showered with praise, Brendan Rodgers’ side being slammed, and a little bit of humour being pulled in.

Neue Westfälische have covered comments from Karim Adeyemi, who was asked about the win against Celtic and how he managed to put in such a brilliant performance.

The forward laughed and said: “I don’t know, my wife made broccoli yesterday."

The hat-trick hero against the Hoops was then involved in a social media post with Dortmund, who morphed his picture from the game into a piece of broccoli, taking the joke further.

Celtic have games against Club Brugge, Dinamo Zagreb and Young Boys coming up and those ties can hand them some important points in the new-look UEFA league.

Maybe they need to make sure they eat their greens ahead of those matches.
