Arsenal winger Leandro Trossard has reacted to his former teammate Matt Turner after Crystal Palace beat Doncaster 2-0.
The American international joined the Eagles from Nottingham Forest on-loan in the summer, and has only made three appearances for his current side.
However, Turner stepped up for Palace against a surprisingly-dangerous Doncaster side, and the former Arsenal man showed his shot-stopping ability in a player-of-the-match worthy performance.
The Eagles would take the lead in the 32nd minute as Daniel Munoz latched onto a rebound off the post, following an effort from Jean-Philippe Mateta, and tapped home.
Munoz has been linked with a move to Man City and Barcelona, and the Colombian’s performance’s this season have many considering him one of the Premier League’s top right-backs.
Crystal Palace are trying to sign Mateta to a new contract, following interest in the Frenchman, and the former Lyon striker was unfortunate not to score against Doncaster.
Justin Devenny doubled the Premier League side’s lead in the 55th minute, as the young midfielder smashed home following a Will Hughes assist.
Hughes was linked with a move to Fulham in January, but Oliver Glasner was able to keep a hold of the former Derby midfielder despite the interest.
Leandro Trossard and Antonee Robinson react to Matt Turner heroics
After the match, Turner posted a photo of himself in action against the Rovers on his Instagram, captioned: “Love these Emirates FA Cup nights”.
His ex-Arsenal teammate Trossard liked the post, and current international teammate Antonee Robinson also liked it.
Turner will be hoping to feature more regularly for Palace, with one eye on a spot in net for the USA national team for the 2026 World Cup on home soil, but will have to beat out Dean Henderson, the current first-choice at Selhurst Park.
Crystal Palace manage to hang-on to key players Jean-Philippe Mateta and Marc Guehi in January
Following a busy transfer window that saw a number of Palace players linked with an exit, the Eagles managed to escape relatively unscathed.
Trevoh Chalobah was recalled from his loan by parent club Chelsea, and the Blues were interested in signing captain Marc Guehi.
Guehi was the subject of a bid from Tottenham, but that was rejected as his exit would have left Palace exceptionally short at the back, following an injury to summer-signing Chadi Riad.
