Leeds United have one of the strongest squads in the Championship.

The Whites are considered one of the firm favourites to gain promotion, especially after going so close last year.

Leeds have one of the best players in the division in nearly every position, though, there is one area where they’re a little light.

Matteo Joseph and Patrick Bamford are the two number nines for Daniel Farke, so if one of them picks up an injury, they’ll start to look very short.

So with that said, the club should look to bring in a striker in January – using their link with Tottenham Hotspur.

Leeds should try to sign Tottenham striker Will Lankshear

Leeds United should look to add a third striker to their ranks in January and Tottenham Hotspur’s young forward Will Lankshear would be the perfect signing.

Lankshear, who’s been labelled a ‘wonderkid’ per The Sun, is a prolific forward at youth level, netting 26 times in 33 outings for the under-21s.

The former Sheffield United youngster has also scored three in five for England’s under-19s, so clearly he’s ready for the next step in his career.

With Dominic Solanke joining as a £65m signing from Bournemouth, Lankshear is unlikely to get many minutes this season, so a loan deal would be ideal in January.

A trio of Joseph, Bamford and Lankshear would be a great blend, so Leeds chiefs really should consider opening talks with Tottenham, who they’ve dealt with on several occasions over the last year or so.

What Ange Postecoglou thinks of Will Lankshear

Speaking to Football London during pre-season, Ange Postecoglou said he was impressed by Lankshear.

"He was good. We kind of brought him in in this last week and yeah he has looked bright in training,” the Spurs boss said.

“He works hard and I thought he took his goal well tonight. He had a very good year last year so it's about rewarding that.”
