Liverpool striker Diogo Jota has reacted to a message from Fulham striker Raul Jimenez on social media amid a difficult season.
Jimenez has enjoyed a career renaissance at Fulham, since joining from Wolves in 2023 for £5.5million [Sky Sports].
The Mexican striker has registered his best goal tally since the 2019/20 season, netting 12 times in all competitions as the Whites look to secure European football for the first time since 2012.
Now 33-years-old, Jimenez’s excellent club form has translated to international football and he will return to Fulham having won two prestigious awards during the intranational break.
Diogo Jota reacts to Raul Jimenez’s MVP award
Jimenez and Mexico became CONCACAF Nations League champions thanks to a 2-1 win over Panama on Monday (24 March), with Fulham’s striker scoring both goals for his country.
The striker posted a photo with the trophy, his medal, and the award for MVP of the tournament on Instagram, captioned: “Rendirse nunca fue, es, ni será opción. CNL Champions and MVP”.
Which translates to: “Giving up never was, is, and never will be an option. CNL Champions and MVP”.
The post was then liked by Jota, showing his support for his former Wolves teammate.
Whilst Jota and Liverpool are set to become Premier League champions, the Portuguese striker looks set for an Anfield exit this summer after failing to impress this season.
Marco Silva and Raul Jimenez look to cap off season with first major trophy for Fulham
Football Insider Verdict
Alongside Crystal Palace, Brentford, Bournemouth, and Brighton, Fulham are a Premier League club still without a major trophy to their name.
The Whites came close in the 2010 Europa League final, losing 2-1 in extra-time to an Atletico Madrid side spearheaded by Diego Forlan and Sergio Aguero.
Going back further, a then-Second Division Fulham side lost to West Ham in the 1975 FA Cup final.

This year, Tottenham target Marco Silva has taken the unusual approach in modern day football of focusing his side’s efforts heavily in cup competitions, particularly the FA Cup.
The manager chose to rest a number of his key players, such as Liverpool target Antonee Robinson against Wolves, in favour of using them in their fifth round tie against Man United, which Fulham won on penalties.
With Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and the holders United all out of the world’s oldest cup competition, it is clear that Silva and his side are doing everything they can to cap off what has already been a very successful season with a trophy.
