Liverpool fans have suggested Harvey Elliott could quit Liverpool in the summer transfer window following his cameo performance against Leicester.

Arne Slot’s side won 1-0 at the King Power Stadium courtesy of a late goal from Trent Alexander-Arnold, who came from the bench to find the net.

There had been plenty of frustration at a lack of creativity throughout the game, leaving the travelling fans disappointed with their team’s display.

Another player who came off the bench to make a real difference was Elliott, and supporters have been left questioning why he has not been afforded more minutes.

The 22-year-old has started just four games this season despite his return to fitness, leading to questions about the reasons behind his exclusion.

It has been suggested that Slot is not a fan of the England Under-21 international, while Dominik Szoboszlai chosen to start 13 of the last 14 league games.

Harvey Elliott could leave Liverpool after exit twist

Given Elliott’s lack of involvement in Slot’s first-team plans, speculation has been rife about his long-term future at Anfield.

Football Insider revealed last month that Elliott has been “disappointed” with his role at Liverpool and could consider his options at the end of the season.

While his summer departure is considered unlikely, he looks set to seek assurances about his role in Slot’s plans which he has yet to receive.

However, Football Insider revealed on 4 April that Liverpool will demand £50million for Elliott amid interest from the likes of Newcastle.

They also remain keen to extend his stay at the club beyond 2027 as they want to avoid the possibility of losing the 21-year-old for free in two years' time.

Arne Slot slammed after Harvey Elliott latest

Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Elliott is unhappy at Liverpool and is interested in the opportunity to play first-team football elsewhere.

Now, fans are claiming Slot may have issues with the midfielder which could accelerate his exit amid question marks about his lack of involvement.

Following the game against Leicester, supporters took to social media to express their frustrations towards the boss as some labelled Elliott’s treatment “disgraceful”.
