Liverpool are looking to make upgrades to Arne Slot’s squad and have been watching an attacker who has ‘excellent potential’ over the course of the season.
The Reds already have a plethora of strong attacking options although given Darwin Nunez’s inconsistencies and Diogo Jota’s injury issues, finding a new forward remains important.
Having strength in depth is being highlighted in the Premier League title race this season with Arsenal’s injuries decimating their attack, whilst, for Arne Slot, he is able to turn to his bench for game changers.
So the Merseyside club are keen to keep their options fresh ahead of next season and have been closely monitoring one of Europe’s hottest young talents.
Liverpool keep watching Jamie Gittens
Liverpool have kept sending their scouts to watch Jamie Gittens, meanwhile, Chelsea are also closely following the player, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Premier League leaders are ‘paying special attention’ to Bynoe Gittens and have continuously been watching him throughout the season.
Bayern Munich are also in the race for Gittens, whilst Chelsea have already made contact with Borussia Dortmund to learn the conditions of a move, so the Reds face strong competition.
Romano told his YouTube channel: “On Bynoe Gittens, there is strong interest from the Premier League. I already told you two clubs from England are closely monitoring the progress of Bynoe Gittens, one is Chelsea. Chelsea are closely monitoring Bynoe Gittens, his evolution and his excellent potential.”
“The other one is Liverpool. Liverpool have sent their scouts several times to follow Bynoe Gittens. To sign Bynoe Gittens in January is going to be very difficult.
“But Chelsea and Liverpool are both monitoring the player, Chelsea have already made contact to ask about the situation of the player.
“Liverpool at this point are monitoring the player in terms of scouting him and are paying special attention to the player.”
How good has Jamie Bynoe Gittens been this season?
Gittens has been in superb form for Dortmund this term and it’s no wonder that major clubs are chasing the left winger.
The 20-year-old has 11 goals in 26 appearances this campaign with four of those goals coming in the Champions League.

The youngster’s form will put him in contention for a call-up to Thomas Tuchel’s first England squad for the March internationals.
