Atalanta are keen on signing Brighton & Hove Albion’s Julio Enciso in the winter market, according to TuttoMercatoWeb.
The Paraguay international has clocked in 287 minutes from 11 Premier League games this season of which 203 came from four matches in December.
His situation at Brighton hasn’t put off La Dea as their owner Antonio Percassi and his son Luca Percassi [Atalanta chairman] like Enciso ‘a lot’.
The Serie A side are in the market for a back up for Ademola Lookman and aim to make the signing in January.
Atalanta have shifted their focus to the Brighton attacking midfielder and TMW state that ‘in the last few hours’, the Europa League winners made their first bid to Fabian Hürzeler’s side.
Atalanta’s offer includes an expensive loan with a purchase option for a figure close to the fee paid by Brighton to buy Enciso. The report states this amount is ‘not the right one’ and there could be further discussions between the clubs for the South American.
The English club have to make a decision on whether to accept a loan with a buying option proposal from Atalanta.
Last month, Paraguay manager Gustavo Alfaro stated the 20-year-old will leave Brighton in this window and Ensico could end up at Atalanta if Hürzeler’s side were to accept their proposal.
