Lucas Digne has sent a message to Aston Villa fans after his part in their disappointing defeat against Monaco on Tuesday (21 January).
Unai Emery's side were beaten by a goal to nil away from home as they failed to respond to Wilfried Singo's eighth-minute goal, which has placed their Champions League aspirations in serious doubt.
The defeat saw the Premier League side slump to eighth place in the Champions League table ahead of their final group game next week against Celtic.
That fixture is likely going to be a must-win match for Villa if they want to avoid going into the two-legged knockout play-off phase of the competitions new format.
Villa have won four, drawn one, and lost two of their Champions League games so far, but they could drop out of the top eight as other teams have a game in hand on them.
Lucas Digne is keeping Aston Villa spirits up
The defeat was a frustrating one for the Villa team and supporters, but Lucas Digne has taken to social media to try and keep everyone's spirits high.
The left-back posted on Instagram to say, "Head up" as the club looks forward to the clash against Celtic.
The 31-year-old played 67 minutes against Monaco, where he managed to create an 82 percent accurate passing rate.
The full-back created two chances and made five passes into the final third, although he was only accurate with 22 percent of his crosses.
Villa will be back in action on Sunday (26 January) against West Ham in the Premier League before hosting Celtic.
In other news, Aston Villa 'could sell Jhon Duran for £100m and sign Victor Osimhen.'
