Luis Suarez showcased a new hairstyle but squandered a glorious chance to win all three points for Inter Miami.

The former Liverpool striker has enjoyed a strong debut at the MLS side alongside his ex-Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi.

Suarez has scored 21 goals in 31 appearances across all competitions and assisted a further nine for his teammates.

His 19th league start of the campaign came on Friday night when Inter Miami hosted Charlotte FC at the Chase Stadium in a 1-1 draw.

Having donned black hair for most of his illustrious career, Suarez has opted for a change of style by dying it blonde.

The new trim has been cut short at the back and sides with a similar shade to that of Messi’s when he rocked an almost identical look.

However, Suarez was unable to mark his new style with a goal, with the Uruguayan uncharacteristically missing an easy opportunity.

Deep into second-half stoppage-time with the score level at 1-1, he met former Barca co-star Jordi Alba’s headed pass at the back post.

Suarez was positioned around three yards from goal and had only the goalkeeper to beat but sent his effort over the bar.

Had he have scored, Inter Miami would likely have gone on to win the match and extend their lead at the top of the Eastern Conference.

It just wasn’t to be for Gerardo Martino’s side, who sealed a point thanks to Lionel Messi’s 67th minute equaliser.

The 2023 Leagues Cup champions sit eight points ahead of Columbus Crew, who have a game in hand.

Inter Miami have just three matches left to play in the Eastern Conference before they play in the MLS Cup play-offs.

Their opponents for round one are yet to be confirmed but they will surely be one of the favourites to go all the way.

Should they do so, Inter Miami will win the MLS for the first time in the club’s history and spark another successful chapter since co-owner David Beckham took over.
