Manchester United star Luke Shaw has claimed that the best player in the Premier League plays for Arsenal right now.

Mikel Arteta has built a phenomenal squad at the Emirates. The Gunners went toe-to-toe with Manchester City for two seasons in a row, which is not easy at all.

Arsenal have a number of world-class players in their side. Many of them have played a huge part in their success over the last two years.

One player, in particular, has been amazing since he joined the Gunners, and Shaw has now made his feelings about him very clear.

Luke Shaw makes bold claim about Arsenal’s Martin Odegaard

Arsenal signed Martin Odegaard from Real Madrid, first on a loan deal and then permanently for £30 million (BBC).

There were a few doubts at the time over whether Odegaard was the right man for the job. Many felt Arsenal should’ve signed James Maddison instead, who was at Leicester City at the time.

However, after three years at Arsenal, it’s safe to say that Arteta was absolutely right to pick Odegaard over everyone else.

The Norway international directly contributed to 22 goals in all competitions in the 2023/24 season – the same figure he managed in the previous campaign.

He has consistently been one of Arsenal’s best players, and the way he leads the side from the front as the captain is exceptional as well.

Odegaard won the Arsenal Player of the Season award at the end of the campaign, beating other stars like Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice and William Saliba.

Now, Manchester United star Luke Shaw has given him an even better title.

In a video on Goal, when Shaw was asked who the best player in the Premier League is right now, he quickly replied: “Odegaard!”

Odegaard is a special player to watch.

The 25-year-old is fantastic on the ball, has incredible vision and his numbers show that he can score goals and provide assists as well.

Arsenal are such a good team because almost everything they do in attack goes through Odegaard. He is a sensational player, and his chance creation stats are just mind-blowing.

In the 2023/24 season, Odegaard created 88 chances from open play. That’s a better return than every other player in Europe’s top-seven leagues.

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes, who is often compared to Odegaard, ranks below the Arsenal skipper, having created 75.
