According to The Telegraph, City are eyeing the Juventus midfielder in a potential loan deal that would see Luiz return to the club.
The 26-year-old was on City's books from 2017 to 2019 but failed to make a senior appearance, yet Pep Guardiola is now eyeing him up as a short-term fix to their midfield issues.
City have suffered without Rodri this season, with the Spain international ruled out for the entire campaign after suffering a knee injury.
The Brazil international has a plethora of experience in the Premier League after his spell at Aston Villa, where he made 204 appearances across all competitions.
Luiz made the switch to Juventus during the summer transfer window but has failed to settle at the Italian giants and is now ready for a return to England.
