Erling Haaland will dominate headlines in Manchester City’s 1-1 draw against Everton.

After Bernardo Silva put Manchester City into the lead in the first half, Ilimian Ndiaye capitialised on the hosts’ shambolic defending at the Etihad Stadium by equalising with a well-taken volley.

Pep Guardiola would have hoped that Haaland would come to City’s rescue after Savinho was fouled inside the box by Vitaliy Mykolenko and won a penalty for the Premier League champions.

However, the Norwegian fluffed his lines after taking a meek spot-kick that was saved by Jordan Pickford.

Erling Haaland was also ruled out offside after he nodded home a header from close range right after.

Man City fans rage at Erling Haaland display against Everton

The former Borussia Dortmund striker has scored a mere five goals in his last 14 Premier League games.

Despite just being two goals behind Mohamed Salah in the race for the Golden Boot, the Leeds-born marksman’s form has dried up since his incredible start to the campaign where he scored eight goals in his first four league outings.

Manchester City fans expressed their frustration at yet another disappointing performance from Haaland against Everton.

A Manchester City fan wrote on X: “Last season, could give him some leeway but this season, there's really no excuse. I know he's been overplayed but he's missing everything bro, pens, open shots, the whole lot.”

Another City fan stated: “Not gonna blame Pep for this one. Players simply just aren't good enough and it starts at Haaland.”

A Manchester City supporter raged after the two-time Premier League winner missed his penalty: “Yeah, I’m not buying the ‘Don’t criticise Haaland’ shtick. What the hell was that?”

A Manchester City fan pointed out how Haaland cannot be affording to be missing such gilt-edged chances with the form the team are in currently.

“Yep. Not the first time I've said it recently but Haaland cannot be missing sitters / penalties in the position we are currently in. It's the reason why he's in the team.”

Another City supporter stated that if Haaland is not clinical, he should be dropped.

“If he's missing too many chances, there is no point in him playing, as he doesn't add enough elsewhere.”

Finally, a sixth Manchester City fan said: “Can a performance be embarrassing if it's what you expected? Haaland and Bernardo lost us the game but I enjoyed Savinho so there's that.”

Erling Haaland stats for Man City against Everton

It’s safe to say that Haaland looks human this season.

Like any player, the decorated goalscorer is prone to a dip in form.

The statistics also indicate how ineffective Haaland was against Everton.

Considering the out-of-sorts hitman tends not be too involved in the game, he cannot afford not to be merciless in front of goal.

While even Haaland’s link-up play and passing was quite sloppy as he endured a tough afternoon.
