Toby Collyer produced a match-winning moment against Fulham as he kept Manchester United’s lead intact with an incredible goal-line clearance.

The 21-year-old came on at Craven Cottage to make just his eighth appearance of the season and was tasked with replacing Manuel Ugarte in central midfield.

Collyer was on the pitch when United scored their winning goal through Lisandro Martinez and he was also involved in a decisive moment with a huge clearance off the line.

The youngster’s display earned him big credit from his teammates and United’s supporters loved the praise he received in West London.

Toby Collyer’s against Fulham helped Manchester United to secure a massive three points away at Craven Cottage.

With just two minutes remaining in normal time, the United academy product was in the right place to stop Timothy Castagne’s effort from crossing the line.

Following the incident, his teammates rush over to him to celebrate the pivotal moment with Martinez, Leny Yoro and Diogo Dalot all grabbing him.

Fulham boss Marco Silva claimed Man United were ‘lucky’ to win, however, Collyer certainly created their luck with his superb positioning to deny the hosts an equaliser.

United’s supporters loved the passion their defence showed towards Collyer’s big moment and they took to X to show their delight.

What Lisandro Martinez said about Toby Collyer vs Fulham

Martinez was singing the praises of Collyer after the game and labelled him an ‘example’ for the younger generation.

The Argentine defender claims that the 21-year-old has worked so hard for his chance in the team and deserves all the praise he gets.

Martinez told TNT Sport: “Why I’m so happy is because of this guy. This guy is honestly a big example for the young generation because he is working so hard every day and he is so humble. So he deserves it.”
