'Man United to terminate Luke Shaw's contract' - fans react to confirmed news

Luke Shaw remains on the sidelines at Manchester United as fans finally lost their patience with the perenially-injured defender.
Shaw has featured just three times for United this season and failed to appear under Erik ten Hag before the Dutchman was sacked in November, as well as being yet to start a match since Amorim took charge.
Returning from a calf injury to make late cameos against Ipswich, Bodo/Glimt and Everton in November and December, Shaw hasn’t been seen since, with a muscle injury keeping him on the sidelines into April.
United’s former chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that Shaw may eventually come to an agreement to terminate his contract at Old Trafford, but Amorim isn’t giving up hope on him just yet.
This came after Brown told Football Insider the previous month that across his 11 years at the club, United haven’t been honest about the nature of Shaw’s career-stalling injuries dating back to 2015.
Ruben Amorim provides Shaw injury update at Man United
Amorim may have his fingers crossed that Shaw makes a full recovery from his latest setback but didn’t rest on his laurels in January, signing Patrick Dorgu to become United’s new first-choice left wing-back.
Ahead of the Red Devils’ return to action against Nottingham Forest after the international break, Amorim provided an update on Shaw’s injury progress, as well as the more recently injured Ayden Heaven.
While Heaven is making his way back to first-team contention despite suffering a nasty-looking knee injury barely two weeks ago, Amorim simply said of Shaw: “Luke is not ready yet.”
Man United fans explode at ‘life-time bencher’ Luke Shaw
Shaw still being on the sidelines, albeit closer to his comeback as a result of taking part in team training, hasn’t received a warm response from the United faithful, who have clearly run out of patience with him.
Man United fans are at the end of their collective tethers when it comes to the hope that Shaw will return to fitness and perform close to the best of his ability; some urging the club to release the 29-year-old.
Comparisons to Chelsea full-back Reece James – who has been to hell and back with injuries himself – were also made, but while Shaw remains stuck in limbo at Carrington, James has returned to fitness and form – scoring a sensational free-kick on his return to the England side against Latvia on Monday.

I believe in Luke Shaw, I’m sure that he’ll make a comeback next season, play the first match and get injured again for the rest of the season. https://t.co/VaRIinv5xB

Oh, so Luke Shaw is still a footballer? Thought he switched to full-time rehab specialist. When will he actually be ready? #footballyarnhttps://t.co/qaAPhp254z

I can’t really decide who is/was more plastic than the other, Luke Shaw at Man U or Van Persie at Arsenal. Their game minutes are less than the studs of their boots.
