Denmark caretaker boss Lars Knusden has insisted that Manchester United forward Rasmus Hojlund is ready to play for the national team.

Hojlund joined the Premier League outfit last season from Atalanta on a big-money deal and played 43 games in his first season at Old Trafford.

This season, though, he made his first appearance only late last month due to a hamstring injury he suffered and has Joshua Zirkzee to compete with for the starting striker spot.

Danish caretaker coach Knusden feels that the Red Devils man contributs a lot with his pace and physicality.

Hojlund has played only 42 minutes of football in the campaign so far but Knusden reiterated that the 21-year-old is ready for the national team for the upcoming international break.

"Rasmus is back again and he is starting to see playing time, so he is also ready to play for the national team", Knusden said via Danish outlet Bold about the Red Devils forward.

"He will contribute with some of the things he can do with his speed, physicality and great work ethic."

Hojlund will hope to get some game time against Aston Villa on Sunday before he travels with his national team to face Switzerland and Spain.
