Manchester City goalkeeper Stefan Ortega is set to be called up for the next international break by Germany.
That's according to journalist Florian Plettenberg, who reports that Ortega will receive his first international call up by Julian Nagelsmann.
Plettenberg reports that Ortega will be nominated for Germany's upcoming Nations League games against Bosnia and Herzegovina and Hungary.
The 32-year-old Manchester City goalkeeper will be called up by Nagelsmann for the first time and be in line for his first-ever senior cap.
He has never featured for the senior side but has 12 appearances for the U19s earlier in his career.
Whether he will be Germany's first choice goalkeeper remains to be seen, with it definitely a position to be worked out by Nagelsmann and his team after Manuel Neuer's retirements in August.
It's long been stated that Ortega had his eye on the role, believing his increasing status at Manchester City could give him his shot.
It appears that is now the case, and he will be given the chance to show his credentials in the next international break, with Nagelsmann set to hand him a call-up.
