Manchester United have held talks to sign Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani in the January transfer window, according to reports in France.
United bolstered their attacking options with the signing of Joshua Zirkzee in the summer but the Netherlands international has struggled to make an impact since his £36.5 million move from Bologna.
Kolo Muani, meanwhile, has struggled to secure a regular role under Luis Enrique at PSG this season, starting just two of the club’s 15 matches in all competitions so far.
According to Le10 Sport, United have already held initial talks to sign Kolo Muani in the January window and are looking to secure an initial loan deal for the rest of the season.
The report claims that the move will ultimately be down to whether the 25-year-old, who was signed from Eintracht Frankfurt for €75m (£64.2m) plus €15m (£12.2m) in add-ons last year, pushes for a move away in January.
Speaking during the international break, Kolo Muani made it clear that he wants to fight for his place at PSG.
‘You have to keep your mental strength up, it’s up to me to continue working so that the coach trusts me. It’s part of my history. I’ve always worked, I’ve never had things easy,’ he told Telefoot last week.
‘I have to work harder, make an impression when he calls on me,” the player replied. “It’s up to me to give my all so that he trusts me.’
Asked if he had considered leaving PSG, Kolo Muani replied: ‘No, I never tried to think about that
‘I have to continue to work, show what I can do and give my all. I must not give up. If you give up, it’s over, you sink.’
