Chelsea claimed a 4-2 aggregate victory over Legia Warsaw in the UEFA Conference League despite losing on the night at Stamford Bridge.

The visitors went ahead on the night after a nice run and pass from Claude Gonçalves to find Tomáš Pekhart, who was brought down for a penalty. Pekhart stepped up and squeezed his effort underneath Filip Jorgensen.

After scoring the equaliser against Ipswich, Jadon Sancho continued his return to form, when he found Marc Cucurella in the area for a simple finish to level the scores.

Gonçalves was involved once more, as his effort fell into the path of Steve Kapuadi to glance it into the back of the net, and put his side back ahead but the drama went no further.

Marc Cucrella and Jadon Sancho standout performers at Stamford Bridge

Filip Jorgensen – 2

Shocking performance. Jorgensen struggled again for the Blues, as he gave away the penalty in which he also should have saved. Was fortunate not to give away another penalty in the second-half as well.

Josh Acheampong – 6

The youngster had a largely ineffective game at right-back in an attacking sense but stuck to his task well defensively.

Tosin Adarabioyo– 5

In a makeshift back-four he was the one Chelsea were looking to provide a sense of calmness, however he was unable was shaky in possession.

Benoît Badiashile– 5

Lacking rhythm and it really showed in his display, with Badiashile slow to react for the visitors second of the night.

Another fine display from Marc Cucurella

Marc Cucurella (off for Malo Gusto 58′) – 8 – Man of the Match

Excellent display. Cucurella continued his goalscoring touch following a fine assist from Sancho and almost had another if it had not been ruled out for offside.

Reece James – 6

Struggled in the unfamiliar central role and perhaps was not helped by not having the security of Moisés Caicedo next to him.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall– 6

After Dewsbury-Hall’s positive performance last week in which he showed willingness to make runs in behind the midfielder did not replicate that performance.

Christopher Nkunku– 6

Almost got an assist for Cucurella had it not been ruled out for offside but looks so short of confidence in front of goal.

Cole Palmer(off for Noni Madueke 58′)– 5

Form has fallen off a cliff since the start of the year and showed no signs of improving it with another poor performance.

Cole Palmer has another difficult night

Jadon Sancho(off for Pedro Neto 83′) – 7

Provided a lovely assist and is starting to gain momentum in his hunt for consistent form.

Nicolas Jackson(off for Tyrique George 45′) – 5

Needs more time after a long-injury but was unable to trouble the Legia Warsaw backline.

Substitutes

Malo Gusto (on for Marc Cucurella 58′) – 6

Replaced Cucurella just before the hour but was unable to provide the same late runs as the Spaniard.

Pedro Neto (on for Jadon Sancho 83′) – 6

Did not have much time to impact the game.

Tyrique George (on for Nicolas Jackson 45′) – 7

Came on at half-time and was unlucky to not get his goal after it was ruled out for offside.

Noni Madueke (on for Cole Palmer 58′) – 7

Recent reports suggest Madueke’s future at Chelsea may be in doubt, but the winger looked lively after coming on and was the hosts main threat in the late stages.
