Coventry City manager Mark Robins made a bold Leicester City prediction at the start of the season and it has come true.

Leicester have secured automatic promotion back to the Premier League and wrapped up the title earlier this week, as they defeated Preston North End 3-0.

It’s been a rocky few months but Enzo Maresca‘s side have really turned the screw at the crucial time, winning five of their last seven outings, including a demolition job on Southampton.

Jamie Vardy has come to the fore at the business end of proceedings and netted a brace against North End to take his tally to a brilliant 20 goals across just 19 starts.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is another who has stepped up and Robins’ prediction about him back in August has now come true.

Mark Robins’ Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall prediction

After Leicester’s 2-1 win against Coventry on the opening day, Robins hailed the matchwinner Dewsbury-Hall for his two-goal display and issued a bold prediction.

“I think Dewsbury-Hall is going to be one of the best players at this level. He's found the top corner,” the 54-year-old said.

“You've got to say that that is the quality they are likely to show. Somebody just said to me that they've £100m worth of talent on the bench, which is nice."

As Robins predicted, Dewsbury-Hall has indeed established himself as one of the best players in the Championship this season as he was nominated for Player of the Season – which Leeds United’s Crysencio Summerville won.

The 25-year-old has looked every inch of a Premier League player, netting a remarkable 12 goals from midfield whilst laying on 15 assists – making him City’s top playmaker.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall wants to stay at Leicester City

There has been widespread speculation that Dewsbury-Hall will have to be sold this summer for the club to stay in line with Profit and Sustainability regulations.

But, BBC Radio Leicester journalist Owynn Palmer-Atkin revealed that his desire is to remain at King Power Stadium.

"I've been at this club since I was 8 years old, I've got no intention of leaving,” the Shepshed-born ace said.

Brighton and Hove Albion were linked with a move in January, so they may return to the table with an offer this summer which could tempt The Foxes, even with Dewsbury-Hall making his intentions clear.
