Nottingham Forest’s superb Premier League run continues as they ran out 3-1 winners at East Midlands rivals Leicester City on Friday night.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s Reds have moved up to fifth in the table as Ryan Yates and Chris Wood scored to overcome the Foxes on their own turf.

Yates opened the scoring for Nottingham Forest in the 16th minute with a fine long-range effort low into the net.

However, Leicester’s Jamie Vardy equalised just seven minutes later as he stretched his leg out to bundle home from Harry Winks’ cross.

Wood then rose to the occasion in the second half by putting Forest ahead in the 47th minute before making sure of all three points on the hour.

For his first, the New Zealand international collected a pass in the box, turned on the spot and then fired a superb effort into the bottom-right corner.

Then, Wood made the most of Wout Faes’ poor header back towards goal from Matz Sels’ goal kick by nipping in and nodding the ball into the net.

The Forest striker’s heroics at the King Power Stadium impressed Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher, who eagerly sung his praises.
