Mason Mount shares 'devastating' Man United update in new message

Man United midfielder Mason Mount has released a statement confirming a fresh injury setback after Ruben Amorim said he will be out for “several weeks.”
The 25-year-old was forced off 14 minutes into Man United’s last-gasp 2-1 Premier League win over bitter rivals Man City in the last round of fixtures with a muscle injury.
Speaking in his press conference after their 4-3 League Cup defeat to Tottenham on Thursday (December 19), Ruben Amorim confirmed Mount will be out for “several weeks.”
Amorim added: “I don’t know the exact date, but it’s going to be for long. And that's it, it’s part of football, and you continue.”
Mount has only made 33 appearances across all competitions since leaving Chelsea for Man United in the summer of 2023 due to various injury issues, completing a full 90 minutes just once.

The attacking midfielder has started just six of his 12 appearances across all competitions, failing to register a goal or assist in 403 minutes of action, while missing three games due to injury.
Mount took to Instagram to confirm his latest injury, saying: “Words can't portray how devastated I'm feeling right now, you could probably see the look on my face when it happened. I knew what it meant.
“United fans, you may not know me too well yet, but one thing I can guarantee, I will never give up or lose faith.
“I've said this before, but I will continue to give everything, get through this tough period and won't stop until that's achieved.“
Amorim hasn’t enjoyed much of a ‘new manager bounce’ since joining United, winning four, drawing one, and losing three of his eight games at the helm.
United next face Andoni Iraola’s impressive Bournemouth side on Sunday (December 22) knowing that a win could take them has high as sixth.
