'Mathys Tel to return to Bayern Munich after last straw at Tottenham'

Mathys Tel may have just thrown away his last chance of earning a permanent move to Tottenham this summer.
The 19-year-old was desperate to move away from Bayern Munich during the winter transfer window, having made just two league starts in the Bundesliga during the first six months of the season.
He certainly did not make the greatest first impression in North London, having originally turned down the loan move before being persuaded by Daniel Levy to make the switch.
But, with Dominic Solanke sidelined through injury, Ange Postecoglou, who remains seriously under pressure at Tottenham, has had no other choice but to start the Frenchman in attack.
Yet Tel has just one goal in the FA Cup to his name from seven appearances, which, after notching 16 goals in 83 appearances back in Germany, has convinced few fans of triggering the £45million permanent clause in his loan deal [Sky Sports].
Ange Postecoglou could be replaced by Daniel Levy this summer
Another problem with Tel finding a new home in North London is the potential for Postecoglou not to be in charge ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, even if Spurs can lift the Europa League title.
Marco Silva and Thomas Frank are both being linked with the Tottenham job despite Levy not yet pulling the rug from underneath his current manager, but it feels like only a matter of time, while Andoni Iraola has emerged as first choice for Spurs.
A new manager, with new ideas and ideology, could really throw a spanner into the works if the Bayern loanee is serious about extending his stay at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
While that is certainly a possibility this summer, the player already looks to have ruined his chance with a controversial social media post, which has infuriated the Spurs faithful.

Mathys Tel quickly ruins relationship with Tottenham supporters
The 19-year-old posted an image of himself on social media, wearing the shirt of former Chelsea star Willian, albeit in his Fulham jersey, and was quickly made to realise his mistake.
Tottenham’s rivalry with Chelsea is one of the most brutal in the Premier League, and while Tel’s lack of knowledge on the subject is ignorant, it probably doesn’t deserve the backlash from the post.
The Brazilian winger is not only a current player for a London rival at Craven Cottage, but also previously played for the other side of the North London divide at Arsenal, having infamously snubbed a Spurs move himself at the last minute to join Jose Mourinho at Chelsea where he went onto spend seven years.
He was quick to issue an apology to those who were furious with the social media, but given how reactionary football fans can be at the best of times, a return to Bayern looks set in stone now.
Had he experienced a better six-month loan in North London, the majority of supporters might have been able to see past his slip-up, but this now looks to be the final nail in the coffin for the young forward.
