Arsenal are gearing up to take on Italian giants Inter Milan in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

The Gunners will hope to make it three wins in a row in the competition when they face the Nerazzurri at the San Siro.

Arsenal’sPremier League title challenge is already showing signs of faltering as they sit fifth in the table.

However, Mikel Arteta’s charges remain unbeaten in the Champions League and will be eager to take a step closer to the next round.

Speaking ahead of the game, Inter defender Matteo Darmian spoke highly of an Arsenal player who has “great qualities in one-on-one situations”.

Matteo Darmian hails ‘important’ Arsenal star Bukayo Saka

The player in question is Bukayo Saka, who has come through the ranks at Arsenal to become arguably their biggest player.

Darmian, speaking to the press on Tuesday, named Saka as one of the Gunners’ danger men, though he stressed he wasn’t the only one.

“We will try to play our game, taking into account the qualities and characteristics of Arsenal,” he told TMW.

“We know the quality of Saka and the other attacking players they have, we will have to work at a team level and do our best to cause them problems when we have the ball.”

When asked whether he had focused mostly on Saka, Darmian said: “No, you have to pay attention to everyone.

“He is an important player for them, he has great qualities in one-on-one situations.

“But, as I said before, Arsenal is not one player but an important collective, of quality. It will require great team work on a defensive level and not only.”

Saka is expected to captain the Gunners in Wednesday’s game at the San Siro.

Arsenal team news v Inter Milan

Arsenal have been handed a boost with the seemingly imminent return of Martin Odegaard.

The Gunners captain trained with his teammates at London Colney on Tuesday before they headed out to Milan.

Arteta said: “He’s back a bit earlier than we expected, but it’s great to have him here.”

However, Declan Rice will miss out on the game due to a foot problem picked up in the loss to Newcastle.

He is set to be assessed on Thursday to see if he will be fit for Arsenal’s weekend visit to Chelsea.
