Arsenal now look to have not done enough business in the summer transfer window as a couple of unfortunate developments have rocked their season.

The past week has been a rollercoaster ride of emotions for Mikel Arteta and Arsenal fans, and this weekend could yet bring even more controversy.

A trip to the Tottenham Hotspur stadium is up next for a weakened Arsenal side who will be without Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard.

Arteta managed to bring in the likes of Raheem Sterling and Neto on deadline day but the one signing they’ll now be wishing they made was a number 9.

Kai Havertz is expected to drop into Odegaard’s role on Sunday. With Gabriel Jesus uncertain for the game and Eddie Nketiah now at Crystal Palace, Arsenal don’t have a striker.

However, Fabrizio Romano has teased a potential future move from the Gunners…

Arsenal were credited with an interest in a number of players during the summer transfer window, but it’s hard to know what’s made up and what isn’t.

However, one of the most trusted reporters in the space, Fabrizio Romano, has made a bit of a transfer prediction on Arsenal for 2025.

When speaking on the Fabrizio Romano YouTube channel, he stated that maybe Arsenal will look to sign a striker next summer.

“There was strong interest, especially from England. For example, Arsenal, at the beginning of the market, considered strikers. Benjamin Sesko, Osimhen was an opportunity, then Viktor Gyokeres.

“But then they decided not to spend that money on the position centre striker this summer. Maybe next summer that could be the case to go for a number 9”

Who could Arsenal sign next summer?

Interestingly, it appears as if Arsenal have walked away from a potential deal for Victor Osimhen, who does have a clause in his contract that allows him to break his agreement with Galatasaray should a top European club make a move for him.

Elsewhere, Viktor Gyokeres, as Romano says, was a name that Arsenal were heavily linked with in the summer months, but his £86 million release clause put a number of clubs off.

The Swede has been in red-hot form again this season, so you wouldn’t rule out an Arsenal move.

Benjamin Sesko looked like he could be on his way to Arsenal but ended up deciding it was in his best interests to stay at his current club, RB Leipzig, for this season.

Arsenal remain interested in Sesko and the striker is open to joining the Gunners, so this could be a deal that gets revisited in the summer.
