Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah took to social media almost immediately after admitting “there is no progress there” over a new deal at the club.

The 32-year-old is one of three key Liverpool players, alongside Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold, who are out of contract at the end of the season.

All three players have been allowed to negotiate a pre-agreement deal with foreign clubs over a move in the summer transfer window since January 1st.

Speaking to Sky Sports on Friday (January 3), Salah said: “So far, yes. It’s the last six months. “There is no progress there. We are far away from any progress. So, we just need to wait and see.”

Salah has been in remarkable form despite his ongoing contract uncertainty, starting 24 of his 26 games across all competitions, scoring 20 goals, and providing 17 assists in his 2150 minutes of action.

Arne Slot certainly has Liverpool firing on all cylinders since taking over in the summer, sitting top of both the Premier League and the new Champions League league phase.

Salah took to Instagram mere minutes after the interview with Sky Sports aired, sharing images of himself smiling while training ahead of their game with Man United on Sunday (January 5).

The Egypt international will doubtless be hoping to further compound the misery of Ruben Amorim’s struggling side after scoring a goal and providing two assists in their last meeting.

Liverpool then travel to North London to face Tottenham in the League Cup semi-final as they seek to retain the trophy they won last season.
