Liverpool were 2-0 victors against Bologna in the Champions League on Wednesday evening.
Arne Slot’s men have now taken maximum points in the most prestigious club competition in the world and reside in fifth place.
Mohamed Salah earned most of the plaudits for Liverpool last night after his goal and assist display but one of his teammates really was the unsung hero.
Ryan Gravenberch was the real unsung hero vs Bayern Munich
Ryan Gravenberch’sLiverpool career didn’t get off to the best start as he struggled for minutes under Jurgen Klopp last term.
The former Bayern Munich midfielder only started 12 league games but under Slot, he’s been reinveted in the number six role.
Last night was another example of his remarkable renaissance as he bossed the game from the base of midfield.
Here are his Sofascore statistics against Bologna:
- 90 minutes
- 59 touches
- 91 per cent pass completion
- 2 key passes
- 4/7 duels won
- 3/5 dribbles completed

Arne Slot hails Ryan Gravenberch’s display
Speaking post-match, Slot was quick to praise Gravenberch’s performance.
“I was delighted with him,” the Liverpool boss told TNT Sports, via BBC Sport.
“I don't say that to players at half-time because there is still 45 minutes to go but I said after the game 'again big performance'.
“Ryan was again outstanding today.”
