'Mudryk ban to force Chelsea into Garnacho deal with Man United'

Chelsea forward Mykhailo Mudryk may "force" the club into pursuing a deal for Manchester United's Alejandro Garnacho, according to Jason Cundy.
The Ukrainian winger was provisionally suspended by the Football Association (FA) on 17 December after failing a drugs test.
Mudryk last featured for Chelsea on 28 November and had already missed five matches before news of his suspension broke.
The Blues have been actively searching for attacking reinforcements this month, with Football Insider revealing that the club was making progress in their bid to sign United starlet Garnacho.
Speaking on talkSPORT's Inside Chelsea, Cundy suggested Mudryk's situation may have influenced the club's decision to target the Argentine.
He said: "The Mudryk situation might just force them because we don’t know what that B sample looks like.
"He could well be missing for… well, I wouldn’t want to speculate on how long he’s going to be out."
Cundy continued, "So in actual fact, we are a little bit light [on the wing]. Who else can play out there?"
Chelsea attacking depth looks thin amid key absences
Football Insider Verdict
Football Insider recently reported that United are open to major offers for Garnacho this month due to growing financial pressure at Old Trafford.
A deal for Garnacho could appeal to United's hierarchy, as any transfer fee would represent pure profit and help alleviate Profit and Sustainability (PSR) concerns.
There has been no update on Mudryk's future, but he played a role in Maresca's squad this season, making 15 appearances, scoring three goals, and providing five assists.
With other attacking options like Joao Felix currently unsettled at Chelsea and linked with a move to Aston Villa, the Blues’ attacking depth is starting to look thin.
A transfer could benefit both clubs—United need the funds, while Enzo Maresca's side requires another attacking option, with Garnacho emerging as their primary target.
The Argentine has fallen out of favour under Ruben Amorim after being left out of the Manchester derby in December, but it remains to be seen whether a deal will materialise the final days of the window.
