'My information is': Craig Hope issues big Alexander Isak update ahead of Newcastle vs Fulham

Newcastle United remain unbeaten in the Premier League after four games, despite not being at their best.

Next up for Eddie Howe and Newcastle United is an away trip to Craven Cottage to face Fulham.

Off-the-field issues involving Paul Mitchell and Eddie Howe continue to dominate things at Newcastle, with the former confirming he’s staying at St James’ Park.

Another issue that emerged for Newcastle recently against Wolves was Alexander Isak‘s injury, as he left the field after a knock to the face.

But, it’s now been confirmed that Isak was suffering with a toe injury.

Now, Craig Hope has provided a big update on the striker ahead of the trip to Fulham…

Craig Hope shares what he’s been told about Alexander Isak

Alexander Isak is locked in contract talks with Newcastle United amid interest from a number of clubs.

The Swede has just one goal and one assist to his name so far this season, which isn’t amazing by his standards but his presence at the top of the pitch is unmatched in this Newcastle side.

Eddie Howe when speaking ahead of the Fulham clash was unsure on whether he would be involved against Fulham.

However, Craig Hope, when speaking on his YouTube channel, has provided a big update.

“My information is guys. And I know you’ll be watching this as Newcastle supporters and perhaps FPL users, yeah.

“I think he will play. I think he’ll be okay, I think he’ll definitely be with the group and I think he probably will start.”

Who could start in Isak’s place if he doesn’t make it?

Newcastle United deployed Anthony Gordon down the middle in the second-half against Wolves, as Harvey Barnes was brought on to replace Isak.

The Magpies have William Osula but he wasn’t even used by Howe against Wolves which shows that he perhaps doesn’t trust him just yet.

Barnes deserves a start after his two goals in two games, which could see Jacob Murphy drop to the bench if Alexander Isak is to make the game.

Of course, Howe won’t want to risk Isak if there’s any chance of him worsening his injury, but at the same time he really doesn’t have any quality striker options.
