Newcastle United's owners may have just been issued a come and get me by Torino president Urbano Cairo, who has indicated he is willing to sell the Italian club.
Inter News cover comments from Cairo today in which he admits he's ready to sell at the right price and wants to do so to people with €20-30 billion.
A report earlier today indicated the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund that owns Newcastle are considering another purchase in football in the near future.
It explained that exploratory talks had already been had about Torino, where there is a feeling that Cairo is open to selling up.
Newcastle's owners are ready to buy another football team as they believe football is an 'extraordinary vehicle' for increasing their investment portfolio.
Torino could be attractive in Italy and those in charge were studying the feasibility of an operation to buy them, with Cairo open to a sale for the right price.
The rumours about a big are circulating from Riyadh to Italy at this moment in time and it appears Cairo is aware of that, answering questions at the Sports Industry Talk hosted by Corriere della Sera.
“I don’t want to stay for life, but I think it’s right to leave it to someone richer and better than me," he said.
"When I arrived there weren’t even any balls, I’d like to leave it to someone with those €20-30 billion that I don’t have and for which I don’t want to go into debt, I repeat, I don’t want to stay at all costs."
