Noni Madueke sends Trevoh Chalobah message after Chelsea goal theft

Noni Madueke has sent a message to Chelsea teammate Trevoh Chalobah after stealing his goal in their side’s 3-1 win over Wolves.
Enzo Maresca’s team ended a five-game winless run in the Premier League with victory over Wolves at Stamford Bridge on Monday night (20 January).
Tosin Adarabioyo put the hosts in front midway through the first half, before Matt Doherty pounced on a Robert Sanchez error from a corner to level for Vitor Pereira’s side on the stroke of half-time.
Chelsea then went back in front on the hour-mark through Marc Cucurella, before Madueke rounded out the scoring with a goal that could easily have belonged to Chalobah.

It was an excellent performance from the centre-back on his first appearance back after a loan spell at Crystal Palace in the first half of the season.
However, he was unable to cap it with a goal, thanks to Madueke nodding in Chalobah’s goalbound header from a free-kick from less than a yard out to make it 3-1 to Chelsea.
That was the attacker’s fourth goal of the season against Wolves after hitting a hat-trick in the reverse fixture, and after the game he was quick to acknowledge the part of his teammate in that strike.
After Chalobah posted a picture of him winning the header on his Instagram page, Madueke shared that to his own Instagram story, along with the caption “You know I love you g”.
Football Insider Verdict
It is good to see Madueke give Chalobah a nod here, and you imagine he will do so in person behind-the-scenes as well.
There is no point in risking frustrations emerging over who gets the goal, given the atmosphere within the Chelsea squad looks to have been a positive one this season.
From Madueke’s perspective there is a chance that as an attacker heading the ball in from that area was simply a natural instinct that meant Chalobah inadvertently missed out on a goal on his return to the side.
With the attacker having previously been criticised as selfish by his own fans earlier this season, it will be interesting to see what the response to this latest episode is.
In other news, Chelsea fans expect one player to leave after what happened against Wolves.
