There's certainly been room for improvement for Arsenal in the Premier League in recent times.

The Gunners have won just three of their last six league games in the league, and that sort of run won't sustain a title challenge, especially as in two of their victories against Leicester and Southampton, they struggled.

So, what's the problem at Arsenal right now? There have been suggestions that Arsenal still need a new striker recently.

Speaking on the Up Front Podcast, Graeme Souness has been discussing Arsenal's striking options, and he says that he's still not a big fan of Kai Havertz despite his good form in 2024.

Graeme Souness not a fan of Kai Havertz

Souness has always had a reputation as something of a cynical pundit, and he hasn't changed one bit.

Souness recently criticised Ben White, and now, he's admitted that he's also not a big fan of Kai Havertz.

However, he did note that he is a big fan of Liverpool's Alexis Mac Allister ahead of the game between Arsenal and Liverpool this weekend.

"Do Arsenal need a striker? Well, Havertz, I'm not an enormous fan of his, but I was going to talk about Liverpool and their midfield. I’m not sure if them, if, you know, Szoboszlai last year when he turned up, it was fantastic, then dipped, and I'm an enormous fan of Mac Allister."

Havertz continues to prove pundits wrong

Souness says that he's still not a fan of Havertz, but it may not be long before he comes around on the German.

Indeed, Havertz has this uncanny habit of proving so-called experts wrong.

Alan Shearer recently stated that Havertz has proven him wrong, Don Hutchison has said that Havertz has made him eat his words recently, while Martin Keown also noted that the attacker is silencing his critics.

Havertz is very much a marmite footballer, you either love him or you hate him, and while some still don't like the striker, he's slowly but surely changing perceptions around his game.

Of course, Souness is a very difficult man to impress, but if Havertz continues to play how he has for the past few months, it may not be long before Souness is singing his praises.
