Nottingham Forest stars react after Anthony Elanga shares Alexander Isak image

Anthony Elanga has caught the attention of his Nottingham Forest teammates after sharing an image alongside Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak while in action on international duty.
Elanga has produced some excellent performances for Nottingham Forest this season, as Nuno Espirito Santo‘s side chase an unlikely Champions League spot.
The winger also remains a regular feature in the Sweden squad, which of course sees him link up with Isak on the international stage.
Isak has also stood out for Newcastle during the current campaign with a relentless string of goals including the Carabao Cup final winner, and both have now continued that form for their country.

On Tuesday (25 March), Sweden took on Northern Ireland in an international friendly at the Strawberry Arena in Solna.
That match ended in emphatic 5-1 win for the hosts, with Isak providing a stunning assist for the opener before making it 4-0 with a spectacular long range strike.
After Elanga came off the bench with 20 minutes of normal time remaining, the Nottingham Forest winger also managed to get on the scoresheet to round off the rout.

Following the conclusion of the game, Elanga took to Instagram to post some images from the game, the first of which was of him and Isak celebrating together.
In response, two of his Nottingham Forest teammates, Morgan Gibbs-White and former Newcastle midfielder Elliot Anderson were among those to like the post.

Elanga is a major asset for Nottingham Forest, and with three-and-a-half years remaining on his contract at The City Ground they are under no pressure to sell him.
It is therefore hard to see a departure happening, especially when the club are in such a strong position which ought to mean they have no need to sell.
Meanwhile, Newcastle have apparently been instructed to take a “not for sale” stance over Isak, so he too should be staying where he is.
With that in mind it appears unlikely that either side will be signing the other, while it is hard to imagine any clubs being able to afford both Elanga and Isak at the same time.
The pair may have to settle for linking up for Sweden for the foreseeable future, which given their talents will surely be a relief for many Premier League defenders.
