According to a claim in the Turkish media, Besiktas are the latest club to show interest in Sporting attacker Marcus Edwards.

The 26-year-old has also been linked with a move to Nottingham Forest in this transfer window as Sporting look to offload the Englishman.

Takvim today report on Besiktas' pursuit for Edwards as new manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær looks to add to his squad before the deadline.

It's claimed the Super Lig giants are lining up an offer for the winger as they look to take advantage of his situation with the Portuguese club.

Edwards has been excluded from the squad due to his attitude and along with Besiktas, Nottingham Forest are again reported to be keen.

Only yesterday we covered reports from Portugal that Sporting were pushing Edwards towards a move to Nottingham Forest – or anywhere really – due to the recent issues they've had with the player.

Sporting manager Rui Borges has reportedly removed Edwards from the group due to disciplinary issues. It's hoped Nottingham Forest could do them a favour and take him off their hands, with the possibility of a loan deal.

Edwards is contracted to Sporting until June 2026.
