'One to watch': Fabrizio Romano confirms there's still a chance £30m Newcastle target leaves after Euro 2024

Having starred at Euro 2024 thus far, Newcastle United have now been told they can sign one Eddie Howe target for as little as £30m this summer.

Howe is believed to be prioritising the arrival of a goalkeeper, a centre-back, a right-winger and a forward right now – there's a busy summer ahead.

And whilst Newcastle may have their immediate focus on adhering to Sunday's PSR deadline, that won't stop the club also planning their future additions.

Judging by the shopping list above, Howe and his team will be very busy introducing new players in July and August, hoping to return to the fight for a Champions League place.

It seems highly unlikely that Newcastle will sell Bruno Guimaraes or Alexander Isak this summer, no matter how determined Chelsea are to buy the striker.

And therefore, to prove their ambition to the pair, Newcastle will need to deliver on the transfer front.

That being said, it appears that Howe would ideally like to sign a goalkeeper to compete with Nick Pope next season, not just provide support for him on the sidelines.

Valencia determined to sell Newcastle target Giorgi Mamardashvili after Euro 2024

For a long while it seemed as if Burnley's James Trafford could be signed, however those links have cooled.

And now Newcastle are reportedly one of several teams seriously interested in Valencia goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili.

Of course, anyone who has watched Mamardashvili for Georgia at the Euros will know exactly why.

Described as 'outstanding' by Ange Postecoglou, the keeper helped inspire Georgia's win against Portugal on Wednesday, booking a spot in the last 16.

And following that performance, Fabrizio Romano has shared an update on Mamardashvili's future on X.

Romano said that the keeper's situation was 'one to watch' and explained that Valencia still plan to sell the Georgian.

He shared: "Giorgi Mamardashvili remains one to watch in the next weeks as he can leave Valencia for €35/40m fee.

"Valencia already signed Dimitrievski as new GK and the plan to sell Mamardashvili remains concrete.

"Georgian GK, performing at a fantastic level also at the Euros."

Therefore, with 23-year-old Mamardashvili possibly available for £30m, Newcastle could seriously grab a bargain.

The keeper is evidently ready for Premier League football, and could even prove to be an upgrade on Pope.
