Manchester City are one of the clubs in the picture to sign AC Milan’s Tijjani Reijnders.

The midfielder has been a regular since arriving at the San Siro from AZ Alkmaar in July 2023. He made 61 appearances in all competitions, of which 11 are from this season.

Corriere dello Sport cover Manchester City’s interest when discussing the Serie A side’s plans for the 26-year-old’s future.

The Netherlands international’s displays have seen him attract interest from the Premier League winners and Barcelona. This has encouraged the Rossoneri to react.

Paulo Fonseca’s side have made contact with his entourage in the last few hours, to talk about a new deal. He has a contract lasting until 2028, so there’s no huge time pressure.

The Italian club’s plan is to extend his contract for another year and improve his salary. They want to carry out these steps to ‘avoid any type of temptation’ for the Dutchman, mostly from Manchester City and Barcelona.

Corriere say both parties have the desire to continue their association, which would make a potential deal complicated for Pep Guardiola’s side and Barca.

It’s possible Reijnders’s camp may have used Manchester City and the La Liga side to land an improved deal from AC Milan.
