West Ham ace Lucas Paqueta sent a message on Instagram to his Brazil teammate Rodrygo on social media before the FA Cup meeting with Aston Villa.
Paqueta has featured in 19 out of the Hammers’ 20 league games this season, only missing the game against Southampton on Boxing Day due to suspension.
However, the Brazilian has struggled for form this season, scoring three goals and assisting none.
Graham Potter has been appointed as the new manager at the London Stadium, following the sacking of Julen Lopetegui.
The game against Aston Villa (10 January), represents a new start for the side from East London and a chance to make a cup run will excite West Ham fans.
Lucas Paqueta sends message to Rodrygo as West Ham exit rumours continue
Paqueta has been regularly linked with a move away from the Irons and almost signed for Manchester City in 2023.
However, the move collapsed after an FA investigation into him over alleged betting breaches.
West Ham fans have had a spotty relationship with the midfielder and called for him to be sold after a particularly poor performance in a 5-0 loss to Liverpool (29 December).
The Brazilian was in a good mood this morning, as he posted on Instagram to celebrate Real Madrid forward Rodrygo’s birthday.
The translated post reads: “Happy Birthday my brother, may god bless you and protect you always. We are in this together ❤️❤️❤️🤙🏾.”
