Leeds United have to sign a new striker to replace Patrick Bamford following his latest hamstring injury, according to the club’s fans.
Daniel Farke's side faced Hull City on 4 January as they continue their push for promotion back to the Premier League.
Bamford has struggled for form this season, failing to score in 10 Championship appearances.
The team primarily relies on him as a rotational back-up, placing him behind Joel Piroe and Mateo Joseph in the pecking order.
However, the 31-year-old has now suffered yet another injury despite limited playing time, frustrating fans who are increasingly vocal about wanting the club to move on from the striker, while suggesting his time with the Whites is now over.
Leeds fans have made their feelings known over Patrick Bamford
Many supporters have taken to social media to call for his departure, citing his inability to stay fit and contribute meaningfully to the team's campaign.
The forward has played just 213 minutes this season and is yet to make a single start under this season.
Despite his limited game time, the experienced striker has reportedly attracted interest from other Championship clubs.
According to Football Insider on 21 December, the 31-year-old is expected to leave at the end of the season.
Leeds are currently prioritising the signing of a number 10 during the transfer window. Yet, with latest hamstring injury, the club may need to reconsider their plans to bolster depth in the squad.
This untimely injury could complicate any hopes of securing a transfer in this window, with some supporters suggesting the Englishman may be at the end of his career altogether.
One supporter remarked, "The club could really do with a CF (centre-forward)” as Bamford is “completely unreliable". Another fan showed some sympathy, saying, "I do love you, but it's time to go”.
Others were less forgiving. One frustrated fan said, "For his own integrity, he should just retire”.
