Paulo Bernardo reacted to a message from Celtic teammate Jota as the Hoops cruised their way to the Scottish Cup final.

Brendan Rodgers’ side find themselves within touching distance of another very successful season, following the 5-0 demolition of St Johnstone.

Celtic are just one win away from another Premiership title and will be eyeing the treble as they prepare for a Scottish Cup final against Aberdeen.

Four first-half goals gave the Hoops a resounding lead at Hampden Park, with two coming from the in-demand Daizen Maeda, before Jota rounded out the scoring in the second half.

Jota posts message to Celtic fans after comfortable victory

Following the win over the Saints, Jota posted two images on Instagram from the action, captioned: “Eternal echoes untouched by time”.

The post was liked by teammate Bernardo, who came off the bench in the 5-0 win alongside his teammate.

Jota re-joined Celtic following a difficult two years in Saudi Arabia and France, and has hit the ground running at Parkhead, scoring five goals in 15 games in all competitions.

Celtic cruise this season but renewed Rangers may be imminent

Football Insider Verdict

For the first time since Steven Gerrard was in charge at Ibrox, Rangers finally look set to potentially pose a threat to Celtic‘s dominance.

That threat remains hypothetical for now, but once the 49ers Enterprises takeover of the Bears is confirmed, the Hoops’ great rivals will likely be armed with a sizeable transfer budget.

What’s more, Rangers are expected to also be equipped with more scouting and analytical resources, adding weight to the financial strength they will be granted.

Celtic look fantastic this season and were unfortunate not to go further in the Champions League, after a narrow loss to Bayern Munich.

Rodgers’ side will be comfortable favourites for a fifth league title in a row next season, but will need to continue revitalising their squad to stave off the imminent threat Rangers will pose.
