There's a claim in the Turkish media that Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Mario Lemina remains keen a return to Galatasaray.

The 31-year-old has been linked with a move to his former club in recent weeks and looks likely to leave the Premier League side in the coming days.

Fotomac today report on the latest developments regarding Lemina's future at Wolves and they say Galatasaray are still trying to get a deal done for him, with the player ‘counting the days’ until his exit.

Cimbom are looking to bolster their central midfielder options in this window and want to bring in competition for Gabrial Sara and Lucas Torreira. Lemina is also reportedly eager to sign for the Istanbul side, with uncertainty over his future with Wolves.

Wolves have the option to extend Lemina's contract for another season, but given the issues they've had with the central midfielder in recent weeks this hasn't yet been activated.

Earlier today we covered an article from AfricaFoot, who stated the player had provided them with a statement.

"Everything can go very quickly in the next few days. Negotiations are continuing," he was quoted as saying.

Galatasaray have the luxury that the Super Lig window only closes February 11th, one week after the Premier League deadline.

Lemina had a loan spell with the Istanbul giants in 2019.
