Ange Postecoglou may be feeling the sack pressure at Tottenham after clashing with yet another supporter following the 2-0 loss away at Fulham.

Postecoglou clapped back at the fan at Craven Cottage after he questioned Spurs’ performance on Sunday (16 March) – with on-loan ace Mathys Tel stepping in to diffuse tensions.

Tottenham sit 14th in the Premier League with nine games left of an injury-plagued 2024-25 campaign, the Australian’s second with the club.

Postecoglou does have the chance to deliver silverware this term with Spurs set to face Frankfurt in the Europa League quarter-final next month.

But Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes “the die is cast” in terms of his future in north London.

Tottenham could sack Postecoglou even if he wins a trophy, says Wyness

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider's Inside Track podcast, Wyness insisted the repeated confrontations show Postecoglou has ‘lost respect’ at Tottenham – and he believes that situation will be hard to reverse.

He finished fifth in the Premier League with Spurs last season but were knocked out of both domestic cup competitions in the early rounds.

Wyness insisted it is “looking harder and harder to keep” Postecoglou on – even if he delivers silverware this season.

He told Football Insider's Inside Track podcast: "Ange had the fan backing so strongly at the start of the season, but the injuries happened and it's all gone wrong.

"He's not helping himself. You've got to stop replying to the fans and getting engaged in every bit of banter he's getting.

"I know it's difficult, because I've been through it – but you've got to be above it.

"I think this is the sort of thing that will dictate the end is coming, if he shows he's not fully focused.

"Even if he wins a trophy, it's looking harder and harder to keep him on. I think he's starting to lose respect and it's something of his own making.

"I think we're coming towards the end.

"Maybe the die is cast already even before the trophy question is answered."
