Arsenal are set to face Leicester City up next in the Premier League and the referee has now been appointed by the Premier League.

Mikel Arteta‘s side were seconds away from pulling off a magnificent win at the Etihad had on Sunday, only to be pegged back by John Stones late on.

The clash between Arsenal and Manchester City was a feisty one as tempers flared.

Leandro Trossard was given a second yellow card for kicking the ball away, whilst Erling Haaland threw the ball at Gabriel Magalhaes‘ head.

Leicester City will be disappointed that they couldn’t pick up their first win of the season as Everton held them to a 1-1 draw at the King Power stadium.

Referee for Arsenal vs Leicester City announced by the Premier League

Arsenal deserved to come away with the three points after working so hard to keep the Citizens out.

They now have the chance to put things right against a Leicester City side who are yet to register their first win in the Premier League this season.

Interestingly, the Premier League have announced the referee appointments for this week’s games, and Samuel Barrott has been picked for the Arsenal clash.

Sam Barrott will be the main in the middle with assistants Scott Ledger and Wade Smith. The fourth official will be Dean Whitestone, whilst Paul Tierney is on VAR and his assistant is Sian Massey-Ellis.

Sam Barrott has already made an apology this season

Samuel Barrott apologised for his error on the opening day of the season between Crystal Palace and Brentford (as per Sky Sports), where he whistled too early for a foul in the box which meant that Eberechi Eze‘s goal from the free-kick couldn’t count, even if the foul was to be cleared by VAR.

The Englishman has already refereed four Premier League games this season, but Arsenal haven’t been involved in any of them.

He’s handed out 26 yellow cards which works out at around 6.5 per game on average.
