Philippe Clement has favoured Hamza Igamane ahead of Cyriel Dessers to lead Rangers’ attack since December.

Igamane has impressed for Rangers while the 30-year-old isn’t pleased with his situation. Last week, Dessers stated he could leave Ibrox in the winter market in search of a more prominent role elsewhere.

Recent claims have mentioned CD Leganés as an option for the Rangers player and this is now backed up by AS.

The Spanish club’s interest in the striker isn’t new as they came close to signing him in 2021. He travelled for medical tests before eventually joining Feyenoord on loan from KRC Genk.

Leganés have returned to sign the Nigeria international and have asked Philippe Clement’s side if they can take him on a loan deal in this window. AS claim the frontman would be delighted to relaunch his career in Spain, meaning he’s open to a transfer.

Rangers are looking for a permanent deal and the La Liga side aren’t able to meet their request. There’s no mention of their demand, but this is making it ‘very difficult’ for Leganés to sign Dessers.
