Glasgow Rangers want to get rid of Cyriel Dessers on a permanent basis this month but are currently only being offered a loan deal for him.

That's according to Gazzetta dello Sport, who say Cagliari only want to take him on loan from Ibrox for the time being.

The newspaper explains that the Italian side are 'waiting for the right move' at this moment in time. They want to spend the remaining two weeks of the window assessing options and finding the right fit so they can strengthen their attacking options.

They 'remain vigilant' to Dessers' situation at Rangers. The 30-year-old has been a regular for Philippe Clement's side this season but largely as a substitute since November. He has 13 goals and four assists in 32 games despite that.

Rangers are happy for him to move on and would prefer and 'immediate transfer'. Cagliari are only offering a loan with the right to buy in June for the time being.

There is plenty of time for them to change that stance before the end of the window. They're still assessing all of their options, though, and Dessers is just one they're looking at.

The obvious answer is a loan deal with an obligation to buy, which would satisfy Rangers too, but they're yet to offer that it seems.
