Rasmus Hojlund 'fumes at Amad Diallo' after Man United incident vs Wolves

Rasmus Hojlund was left “fuming” with Man United teammate Amad Diallo after not being teed up for a chance against Wolves, according to Lucy Ward.
The Red Devils went into that match on Boxing Day looking to bounce back from their 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth last time out, but struggled to create chances in the opening 45 minutes.
One opportunity they did have in that period came shortly before the break, when a long ball forward dropped at the feet of Diallo just outside the area.
The Man United winger then fired straight at a Wolves defender at point blanc range, with Hojlund in space to receive a pass, and Ward believes the striker was frustrated not to be found by his teammate.
Speaking on co-commentary on Amazon Prime‘s coverage of the game (6:10pm), the former Leeds United women’s striker said: “The build-up nothing wrong with that, it just enables Hojlund and Amad to battle two v two.
“Hojlund absolutely fuming that as it got to Amad, he didn’t take that chance. I think he had a little bit of space in front of him Hojlund. He works so hard Hojlund, he makes runs and he doesn’t always get it. Frustrating.”

It makes sense that Hojlund would be frustrated he was not set up by Diallo in this particular passage of play.
The striker has been an isolated figure at times since he arrived at Man United, and this was an opportunity to give him to some supply that did not materialise.
Amad though has been one of the few bright sparks for the Red Devils this season, so you can hardly blame him for wanting to have a go himself.
Indeed, with his back to goal on the edge of the area, it would still have been a difficult chance for Hojlund to finish even if he had received the pass from the Ivory Coast international.
This is not the first time recently that the Man United duo appear to have not fully agreed with something on the pitch either, so the connection between the two may need to be addressed.
That though is just one of what feels like a long list of issues that needs to be fixed at Old Trafford, with no certainty that will happen in the near future.
